Fire department access is required to be provided within 150 feet of all portions of the building. If the buildings exceed 30 feet in height per the OFC then aerial access is required. Any dead end fire department access roads over 150 feet in length will require an approved turnaround. All portions of the structures are required to be located within 600 feet of a fire hydrant if they are provided with an approved fire sprinkler system. The FDCs are required to be located within 100 feet of a fire hydrant and the hose lay shall not obstruct fire department access. Note: all measurements are made along an approved route. |
