Fire hydrants required to be provided within 600 feet of all portions of the structures (400 feet if not provided with an approved fire sprinkler system). The apartment fire sprinklers will require an approved FDC and a fire hydrant is required to be provided within 100 feet of the FDC. The hose lay from the fire hydrant to the FDC shall not obstruct fire department access. Fire department access is required to be provided within 150 feet of all portions of the exterior of the structures. Dead end fire department access roads over 150 feet in length require an approved turnaround. If the structures exceed 30 feet in height (per the OFC) then aerial fire department access is required. All measurements are made along an approved route. Items including fire department access and water supply will be reviewed at time of building permit plan review. |
