Fire department access is provided to within 150 feet of all portions of the structure. However, aerial access is required to be provided along one entire side of the structure if the building exceeds 30 feet in height. The roof configuration does not allow firefighter access to both roof levels unless aerial access is provided on E street. All portions of the building are required to be within 400 feet of a fire hydrant as the building will be required to have a fire sprinkler. The total fire flow is based on the type of construction and total fire flow area and will be determined at the time of building permit plan review. The FDC is required to be within 100 feet of a fire hydrant, and the hose lay shall not obstruct fire department access when the hoses are deployed. All measurements are made along an approved route. |
