2 9/11/2019 Pamela Cole Info Requested For the landscaping review, revisions are required before I can approve. On L1.2, the irrigation information for Planters A-E is insufficient. These areas must either be connected to the permanent underground or drip irrigation system or redesigned to include drought-resistant vegetation, in which case you must provide a two-year plant establishment schedule describing the amount of water to be applied over a two-year time period and how that water will be distributed to the plant material. You will need to submit a revised sheet L1.2 and also a revised sheet L1.1 with drought-resistant vegetation to replace Ginkgo biloba Autumn Gold and Hino-Crimson Azalea in these areas if you choose that option. Sec. 807.040. - Irrigation. (a) A permanent underground or drip irrigation system with an approved backflow prevention device shall be provided for all landscaped areas required under the UDC; provided, however, a permanent underground or drip irrigation system is not required for: (1) Existing healthy vegetation that has been established for at least two years and that is being preserved to meet the landscaping requirements under this chapter; (2) New vegetation that is drought resistant, in which case a two-year plant establishment schedule shall be provided with the landscaping plan describing the amount of water to be applied over a two-year time period and how that water will be distributed to the plant material; and (3) New vegetation located within stormwater facilities as required by the Public Works Design Standards, in which case a two-year plant establishment schedule shall be provided with the landscaping plan describing the amount of water to be applied over a two-year time period and how that water will be distributed to the plant material.
3 10/9/2019 Pamela Cole Info Requested Email to Jessica Schultens and John Shirley The Cornus nutallii and Hemerocallis are acceptable as drought-resistant plants. However, the note added to the plan is not sufficient for the two-year plant establishment schedule that shall be provided with the landscaping plan describing the amount of water to be applied over a two-year time period and how that water will be distributed to the plant material. Please submit that watering program in writing now or submit an irrigation deferral form and deferral fee of $75 now. Thanks.
