Welcome to the Salem Police Department Online Police Reporting System. Using this system will allow you to submit a report immediately and print a copy of the report. Please review the following to determine if using the Online Police Reporting System is right for you.

Reporting a crime online to the Salem Police Department must meet the following criteria:

The incident occurred within the city limits of Salem.
There are no known or named suspects.
This is not domestic related.
This is not a crime involving the loss of firearms or prescription medications.
It fits into the offense categories listed on the following page.

All cases filed using the Online Police Reporting System will be reviewed. If further investigation is needed, you may be contacted.

NOTE:
Initiating a false report is a crime. ORS 162.375 states that "A person commits the crime of initiating a false report if the person knowingly initiates a false alarm or report which is transmitted to a fire department, law enforcement agency or other organization that deals with emergencies involving danger to life or property." Anyone who initiates a false report through this system will be aggressively prosecuted.
